So when Southern Elementary School, part of Scott County Schools, asked us to create a logo for their music department and choir, we knew we were stepping into something special.
Music isn’t just another subject. It’s emotion, expression, and community—and the choir at Southern Elementary reflects all of that and more.
The Challenge: Blend Tradition with Personality
Southern Elementary’s music program has a strong identity rooted in excellence, joy, and growth. Our challenge was to take those ideas and wrap them into a logo that felt:

Youthful, but not childish

Versatile enough for t-shirts, signs, programs, and digital media
We also knew the design had to resonate with students, parents, and teachers alike—and still reflect the district’s broader visual style.
The Design: Where Music Meets Meaning
The final design is built around a treble clef fused with a tree, which may be one of the most meaningful pairings we’ve worked with. The tree represents growth, roots, and life—while the treble clef anchors it all in the world of music.
Look closely and you’ll see:

Leaf elements shaped like musical notes, symbolizing both creativity and vibrancy

A clean, modern aesthetic that feels just as at home in a concert program as it does on a classroom wall

A bold black-and-white color palette, which offers endless flexibility for printing and embroidery (a big bonus for school merch)
It’s elegant but strong—exactly like the students who sing under it.
